Baptism
We enter the church through the sacrament of Holy Baptism. When planning a baptism it is advisable to call the Pastor four to six weeks in advance so that a convenient date can be arranged. First Lutheran Church baptizes people of all ages. Many of our baptisms involve infants and young children, but adults who have never been baptized in the name of the triune God are invited to make their confession of faith and be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
“In baptism our gracious heavenly Father frees us from sin and death by joining us to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are born children of a fallen humanity, by water and the Holy Spirit we are reborn children of God and made members of the church, the body of Christ.”
